What characters can remember
Characters may remember details from your conversations that help the story or relationship feel ongoing: names, preferences, and story beats you have shared in chat.
What is retained can vary by conversation and character. Do not rely on the app as a personal database or journal backup.
How memory makes chats feel continuous
When a character references something you said before, the chat feels less like starting over and more like picking up a thread. That continuity is central to the companion experience.

What not to expect
Do not expect permanent total recall of every message. Characters may miss details, paraphrase incorrectly, or lose context over time. Memory should feel helpful for immersion, not perfect.
If accuracy matters (dates, medical notes, passwords), keep those outside the app. AI output can be inaccurate.
